Dehradun: The district administration has intensified preparations ahead of the proposed two-day visit of President Droupadi Murmu to Uttarakhand. In this regard, District Magistrate (DM) Dr. Ashish Chauhan convened a high-level meeting with all line departments.
The DM directed all departmental heads to work in close coordination to ensure seamless arrangements for the visit. According to the tentative itinerary, the President will arrive at the Rashtrapati Niketan in Dehradun on June 12. On June 13, she will attend the Passing Out Parade (POP) at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) as the Chief Guest (Reviewing Officer). Following the event, she will depart for Delhi.
DM Warns of Strict Action for Lapses or Negligence
The District Magistrate instructed officials to ensure foolproof arrangements from the President’s arrival to her departure. He directed that comprehensive advance plans be drawn up for basic amenities—including uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, telecommunication networks, and other essential services—at the Rashtrapati Niketan.
Emphasising that security arrangements remain the topmost priority, the DM ordered that all necessary security measures be firmly in place along the designated travel route. He also stressed the importance of maintaining smooth traffic management and conducting regular monitoring of the arrangements at all specified venues. The DM categorically warned that any error or negligence in executing these duties would invite strict disciplinary action against the responsible officer.
