Dehradun: Students from Leh-Ladakh, currently on a National Integration Tour under Operation Sadbhavana, met Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) at the Lok Bhawan. The tour is being organized by the 129 SAT Regiment of the Dhanurdhari Artillery Brigade under the aegis of the Fire and Fury Corps. As part of this trip, the students are getting opportunities to interact with key institutions and prominent personalities across various regions, including visits to prestigious sites such as the Forest Research Institute (FRI) and the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun.
Addressing the students, the Governor remarked that national integration tours are not merely about visiting different places, but serve as an opportunity to discover, understand, and connect with India. He noted that while languages, food, and cultures may differ across Ladakh, Uttarakhand, and other parts of the country, a shared pride in the Tricolor and the nation unites everyone—exemplifying India’s unity in diversity.
He encouraged the students to engage with people during their travels, understand local cultures and lifestyles, and return to Leh as ambassadors of national integration to share their experiences with family, friends, and schools.
Inspiring the students to dream big and move forward with hard work, discipline, and determination, the Governor stated that while one’s birthplace provides identity and roots, it does not define one’s limits. He added that resilience should be learned from the mountains of Ladakh, and failure should be viewed not as the end, but as a stepping stone forward.
Wishing the students a bright future, the Governor urged them not to limit their ambitions and to carve out their identity through education, self-confidence, and courage. He expressed confidence that today’s students will become tomorrow’s responsible citizens and nation-builders, and that this journey will prove to be a source of learning, experience, and inspiration for them.
