Dehradun: Lamhe 2026, the annual techno-cultural fest of IMS Unison University (IUU), commenced with great enthusiasm and grandeur on April 2, at the university campus. Day one of the flagship event witnessed a record footfall, reflecting the tireless efforts of the organizing team and the vibrant spirit of the students. Over 860 participants from prestigious institutions, including Delhi University, Doon University, UPES, ICFAI, Graphic Era University, Dev Bhoomi University, Uttaranchal University, and SGRR, took part in the festivities.
The campus buzzed with energy as students participated in more than 60 competitions across diverse domains, showcasing their passion, creativity, and artistic excellence. The inaugural ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Shri Hari Har Patnaik, Chairman of Uttarakhand Gramin Bank, alongside Dr. Anil SubbaRao Paila, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Anitha Ramachander, Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr. Amit Adlakha, Dean of Student Welfare; Deans of various schools; and faculty members. Welcoming the gathering, Dr. Amit Adlakha extended a warm reception to all participants. Addressing the audience, Vice Chancellor Dr. Paila encouraged students to participate wholeheartedly and make the event a grand success. Shri Patnaik conveyed his best wishes for the success of the fest.
The inauguration was followed by a mesmerizing Mohan Veena recital by Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, Grammy Award, and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award recipient. His soulful performance added a classical and prestigious touch to the celebrations. The ceremony concluded with the felicitation of dignitaries and a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Apoorva Sharma, Cultural Coordinator. The day unfolded with a series of engaging events across various schools of the university. The School of Management & Liberal Arts hosted flagship competitions such as the National Business Hackathon, Bazaar-e-Ideas, Pitch & Burn, Rapid Bingo – HR Edition, Nukkad Natak, and Lean Process Race. The School of Media, Communication, & Design conducted events like MOJO, Comedy Clash, and CinéVoyage. At the School of Computer Applications, students participated in AI Sprint, Tech Quiz, and Campus Royale BGMI Champions. The School of Hospitality Management organized events including Sweet Treat Culinary, Vocal for Local, and Best Out of Waste. Meanwhile, the School of Law hosted intellectually stimulating competitions such as the National Youth Parliament – Rashtraniti, Spot the Legal Luminary, Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), and Turn Court.
Additional attractions such as Dance Battle and Roadies at the Central Plaza further energized the campus. Main stage highlights included Sur Sangam, Cosplay Recreations, and the much-anticipated Grandeur – The Fashion Show, where models captivated the audience with their style and panache on the ramp. The day culminated with the much-awaited Band Night by the popular band Zikrr Encore, who enthralled the audience with a high-energy performance. Overall, Day 1 of Lamhe 2026 was a resounding success, celebrating music, creativity, and youthful exuberance.
