Dehradun: In a severe bus accident near Kupi in Marchula, Salt Tehsil, Almora district, 36 people lost their lives, and 26 others were injured. Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his condolences for this tragic incident, praying for peace for the souls of the deceased and strength for the bereaved families to bear the loss. He announced immediate compensation, pledging Rs 400,000 for the families of those who died and Rs 100,000 for the injured. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
after getting news of the incident, the Chief Minister promptly instructed the concerned authorities to begin relief and rescue operations and personally visited Ramnagar. He met the families of the victims and extended his condolences and concern.
The Chief Minister visited the injured admitted to Ramnagar Hospital and directed the CMO and other medical staff to provide the best treatment possible.
Six critically injured individuals were airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh, and one to STH Haldwani, while five others were transported to STH Haldwani by 108 ambulance. Upon family requests, five injured individuals were sent to other hospitals. Nine injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at Ramnagar Hospital.
Following the incident, the Commissioner of Kumaon and Chief Minister’s Secretary, Deepak Rawat, and other officials also arrived at the site. The Commissioner had earlier visited the injured in Ramnagar Hospital and instructed the medical team to ensure quality care.
Garhwal MP Anil Baluni, Ramnagar MLA Diwan Singh Bisht, State Minister Dr. Anil Dabbu, BJP District President Pratap Bisht, Commissioner of Kumaon Deepak Rawat, District Magistrate Vandana, SSP Prahlad Meena, CMO Dr. Harish Chandra Pant were also present there.
