Dehradun: The State Health Authority of Uttarakhand has de-listed five hospitals that were registered under the Ayushman scheme. These include three hospitals from Dehradun district and one each from Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar. This action has been taken due to the inactivity of these hospitals in the Ayushman scheme over the past six months.
Reena Joshi, IAS, the Chief Executive Officer of the State Health Authority, stated that every hospital registered under the Ayushman scheme is mandatorily required to function in accordance with the set standards. Guidelines have been established for removing inactive hospitals from the panel, and action has been taken accordingly.
As per the directives issued by the authority, the following hospitals have been de-empaneled: Jeevan Jyoti Clinic, Mars Hospital, and Shri Siddhi Vinayak Health Center in Dehradun; Bisht Hospital in Pithoragarh; and Eye Sight Super Specialty Eye Care Center in Udham Singh Nagar.
All of these de-empaneled hospitals have had zero activity under the Ayushman scheme for the past six months. Due to such inactivity, their continued listing in the scheme no longer holds any relevance. The authority had issued a one-month notice to these hospitals. However, no response was received from them. Upon the expiry of the one-month notice period, the authority canceled their empanelment.
The CEO emphasized that ensuring the proper delivery of Ayushman scheme benefits to the common beneficiaries, especially those at the grassroots, is a top priority for the authority. For this, regular monitoring and strict directives are issued from time to time. Any kind of negligence at any level in the Ayushman scheme, which directly affects public health, will not be tolerated.
