Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat Informed the Union Minister about the Implementation of NEP-2020 and Other Schemes.
Haridwar/Dehradun: During his visit to Uttarakhand, Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan held a meeting with the state’s Higher and Secondary Education Department in Haridwar to discuss the implementation of NEP-2020 and other educational programs. The meeting attended by the state’s Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat to discuss various points.
Education Minister, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that during his visit to Haridwar, the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, reviewed various programs and activities in a joint meeting of the Higher and Secondary Education Department. In the meeting, he instructed the officials to prepare textbooks from Class 1 to 12 by incorporating local contexts. He also gave some important instructions regarding the operation of Bal Vatika (children’s garden).
Dr. Rawat said that during the meeting, the Union Education Minister was briefed about all the ongoing educational programs in the state and a detailed update on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 was provided. He further added that among the various aspects of education discussed in the meeting, he requested the Union Education Minister to increase the budget for the state’s “Samagra Shiksha” program and to implement all textbooks and the state’s education system in accordance with the National Education Policy-2020 in the financial year 2025-26. Additionally, he also requested the establishment of two model colleges and a Teachers’ Training Center under higher education. The Union Education Minister gave his nod to this request.
Dr. Rawat also stated that the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan appreciated the efforts of the state government in the field of education and highly praised the “Hamari Virasat aur Vibhutiyan” (Our Heritage and Eminences) books prepared by the Education Department in line with the recommendations of NEP-2020.
Director of Higher Education Prof. Anju Agarwal, Joint Director and In-Charge of RUSA Prof. A.S. Uniyal, In-Charge Director of Secondary Education Dr. Mukul Sati, In-Charge Director of Basic Education Ajay Kumar Naudiyal, APD of Samagra Shiksha Kuldeep Gairola, and other departmental official were also present in the meeting.
