Pink Council CSI 2026, two day Seminar concluded.

Derhadun: The second day of Pink Council CSI 2026, an initiative of the Cardiological Society of India, held on 22nd February 2026, continued with great enthusiasm and participation from faculty members and delegates. The day featured insightful academic sessions and meaningful discussions focused on women’s health, leadership, and inspiration.

A special highlight of the day was an engaging and inspiring session featuring Mithali Raj, former captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team. The session was conducted in an interactive format where questions were asked by Dr Preeti Sharma, Organising Secretary, PCC-CSI 2026; Dr Roopali Khanna, Convener and Scientific Chairperson of PCC CSI 2026; and Dr Satyendra Tewari, President Elect of CSI.

During the session, Mithali Raj shared inspiring insights about her childhood and how her family played a strong role in supporting her journey. She spoke about how her career in cricket began and how she initially started going to a cricket academy along with her brother. It was during this time that the coach recognized her potential and pointed out that she had the talent to represent India in cricket.

She also spoke about the importance of discipline, dedication, and fitness, emphasizing that she continues to focus on staying fit even today. Mithali Raj shared that maintaining physical and mental strength has always been a key part of her journey, and she believes in constantly working on herself and improving.

Adding strong academic depth to the day’s proceedings was the dedicated Cardio-Obstetrics session, which focused on the evolving challenges of managing pregnancy in women with pre-existing or newly diagnosed heart disease. Experts deliberated on risk stratification, multidisciplinary care models, and the importance of early diagnosis in preventing maternal and fetal complications. Special emphasis was placed on supporting working women through pregnancy, addressing the dual responsibilities they shoulder, and ensuring structured medical guidance to help them navigate cardiovascular risks safely while maintaining professional commitments.

The scientific discussions also explored heart disease during pregnancy, highlighting the need for coordinated care between cardiologists, obstetricians, and other specialists. Another key area of focus was the cardiac side effects of cancer therapies, including chemotherapy and radiation, underscoring the importance of cardio-oncology in long-term patient care. Faculty members further discussed the impact of hormone therapy in post-menopausal women and its cardiovascular implications, bringing attention to individualized risk assessment and preventive strategies during menopause.

The session was highly engaging and motivating for the audience, as it highlighted the importance of perseverance, family support, structured medical care, and self-belief in achieving success and maintaining health. The deliberations resonated strongly with the delegates, particularly in the context of empowering women to pursue their goals while prioritizing cardiovascular well-being across different life stages.

The second day of Pink Council CSI 2026 once again reflected the conference’s core objective of inspiring, educating, and empowering, while bringing together experts and leaders from diverse fields to share knowledge and experiences that can positively impact women’s health and professional growth.
