Dehradun: On the occasion of World Cancer Day, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dehradun, successfully hosted a Cancer Survivors Meet on February 4, 2026, bringing together cancer survivors and their families for an inspiring and meaningful gathering. The initiative celebrated the courage and resilience of survivors, while spreading awareness about holistic cancer care and instilling hope among patients and the community.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Dr. Saurabh Tiwari, Consultant – Surgical Oncology; Dr. Runu Sharma, Consultant – Medical Oncology; and Dr. Amit Badola, Consultant – Medical Oncology; from Max Hospital, Dehradun, symbolizing hope, healing, and the hospital’s continued commitment to comprehensive cancer care.
The Cancer Survivors Meet aimed to honour survivors, provide a platform for sharing their inspiring journeys, and motivate patients to approach treatment and recovery with confidence and positivity. The event also emphasized the importance of emotional well-being, lifestyle modification, and post-treatment care in achieving long-term outcomes.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saurabh Tiwari, Consultant – Surgical Oncology, Max Hospital, Dehradun, said, “Cancer is not just a physical challenge but also a mental and emotional battle. Along with advanced medical treatment and emotional strength, family support plays a crucial role in helping patients stay motivated throughout their journey.”

Regular exercise, balanced nutrition, stress management, avoiding tobacco and alcohol, and routine health check-ups can significantly reduce the risk of recurrence.
