Dehradun: On the occasion of World Parkinson’s Day, Max Hospital, Dehradun emphasised the importance of awareness, early diagnosis, and timely management of Parkinson’s Disease, a progressive neurological disorder that significantly affects movement and overall quality of life.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ayush Singh, Consultant – Neurology, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dehradun, explained that, “Parkinson’s Disease primarily affects movement and is often overlooked in its early stages. Many patients tend to ignore early symptoms such as mild tremors, stiffness, or slight changes in movement. However, early recognition and timely medical intervention can make a significant difference in managing the disease effectively.”

Dr. Singh, further highlighted that, “Parkinson’s is not limited to visible motor symptoms. In addition to tremors and slowed movements, patients may experience non-motor symptoms such as sleep disturbances, mood changes, and cognitive difficulties, which are equally important to address as part of the treatment plan.”
