Mansi Vinod Mohite of team Maharashtra breaks her own record in the Women’s Individual Triathlon despite injury

Dehradun: Mansi Vinod Mohite, representing Team Maharashtra in Women’s Individual Triathlon has achieved another milestone in her athletic journey at the 38th National Games. Despite suffering from an injury, she broke her previous record by 3 minutes and 23 seconds, completing the triathlon in an impressive 1 hour, 10 minutes, and 43 seconds. This remarkable performance earned her a silver medal this year.

In the previous edition, the 37th National Games, Mansi clinched gold with a record time of 1 hour, 14 minutes, and 6 seconds. Her dedication and resilience in the face of adversity continue to inspire aspiring athletes across the nation.

Triathlon, known as one of the most challenging sports in the world, tests an athlete’s endurance through three segments: a 750m swim, a 20km cycle, and a 5km run.

Expressing her thoughts, Mansi said, “I am glad I broke my own record, but I am not satisfied with my performance due to my injury. I believe I could have done better. Representing my state in the National Games is always a matter of immense pride. I am deeply grateful to everyone for their unwavering support. To all aspiring athletes out there, I want to say, believe in yourself and have faith in your skills.”

Sharing her opinion on this year theme, she further said, “I truly appreciate the ‘Green Games’ theme this year and the sustainable initiatives under it, which reflect a commitment to the environment.”
