Dehradun: Krishna Rana, Chairman of Cambrian Hall School, has been acquitted of the false allegations levelled against him by his sister Amrita Singh Dahiya and her husband Devendra Dahiya by the police and the Hon’ble Court. Their continuous harassment of Krishna Rana, forged wills, theft and deliberate destruction of institutional legacy have been going on for many years. In their desire to take over Cambrian Hall School, Amrita and Devendra Dahiya did not hesitate to go to any extent – even filing false criminal cases against their brother Krishna Rana.
The entire sequence of events started after the demise of the late Chairman of Cambrian Hall School, Rani Chandra Rajya Laxmi Rana, mother of Krishna Rana and Amrita Dahiya, in August 2018. The real scam is of illegal trusts, duplicate accounts and embezzlement of money – perpetrated by Amrita Dahiya and her husband Devendra Dahiya. She created a fake trust named “Rani Chandra Rajya Laxmi Rana Trust” and diverted funds by opening separate bank accounts. The property of Stepping Stone School, of which she herself is a legitimate permanent member, was also illegally occupied. The Education Department is investigating the entire matter and several notices have been sent to Amrita Dahiya and her husband Devendra Dahiya.
In March 2025, she filed a stay petition in the High Court falsely claiming that Amrita Dahiya is still a permanent member of Cambrian Hall – which was rejected by the Hon’ble High Court. It is clear from this that position and membership in the society is not acquired by will and hence she is no longer a permanent member of the society. Her objection before the Registrar has been rejected earlier also.
In May 2025, an FIR was lodged by Amrita Dahiya against Krishna Rana in Kotwali, Dehradun, which was also published in some local and national newspapers, it was based on an incident of 2010 and proved to be a case of defamation and false information. After investigation, the final report (FR) was submitted by the investigating officers, in which no basis was found for this FIR. To get her brother out, Amrita Dahiya weaved a web of allegations of forgery and fraud through the FIR and the will – which have now been found to be false on examination of law and facts.
Krishna Rana said that the case filed against me by Amrita and Devendra Dahiya is aimed only at tarnishing the image of our prestigious school. Whose infinite greed and deceit have reached such an extent that he is conspiring with my sister to defame us. He has two luxurious flats in Juhu area of Mumbai, two flats in Gurugram, a luxury flat in Kalidas Road, Dehradun and a huge villa in Purkul, several cars, foreign trips – despite all this his greed has not stopped.
How did retired Army officers Devendra Dahiya and Amrita Dahiya amass so much wealth and were their assets ever declared during service and were their respective tax returns ever filed? It is no coincidence that there were investigations within the Army too that Devendra Dahiya duped women of their money by promising marriage, including a high-profile case filed against Devendra Dahiya in Jaipur by Nancy Chapman, an American jewellery designer.
Amrita Dahiya has illegally held dual passports in India and is running a diamond, gold and gemstone jewellery business in Jaipur, which was started when her husband was posted in the 61st Cavalry. The business has investments worth crores and has faced allegations of tax evasion and fraud. The Dahiya family harassed and extorted money from many people, including Amrita’s widowed mother, late Rani Chandra Rajya Laxmi Rana (former president), for many years, as witnessed by those close to the Rana family. After her death, he has worked to imprison the brothers, divide them and dispossess them of their birthrights through a fake will. Krishna Rana’s elder brother and Australian citizen Rishi SJB Rana resigned from the Cambrian Hall Board in 1985 and lives in Australia with his family. Krishna Rana remains a committed custodian of the school unanimously approved by the Board and hence the main target of Dahiya’s conspiracy.
Cambrian Hall, a premier institute of Dehradun, has been ranked No. 1 in 2024 by the prestigious Education World. The school continues to move towards its motto of “Greater Heights” with a 5 ranking, increasing school and boarding enrollment, 100% board results, numerous gold and silver medals won in statewide and inter-school competitions in sports, debates and MUN. The school supports and follows all government policies and regulations including fees. It is unfair to single out Cambrian Hall and tarnish its reputation as it affects many people including our committed students, parents and teachers.
