Promoting Education and Lifelong Learning in Rural Communities.
Dehradun/ Doiwala: FICCI FLO Uttarakhand Chapter marked a significant milestone today with the inauguration of a library in the village of Gram Majri Grant, under its initiative to empower rural communities through education and development.
Dr. Charu Chauhan, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Uttarakhand, said that this is a step forward in FLO’s mission to encourage women and communities to achieve their full potential, was organized under the vertical Rural Livelihoods and Rural Entrepreneurship. This new library aims to provide access to knowledge and foster a culture of lifelong learning, benefiting the entire village. The library is stocked with books across diverse genres, including literature, fiction, mythology, science, academics, and competitive exams. It caters to all age groups, with books available in both Hindi and English. FLO Uttarakhand has committed to continually upgrading the library with the latest reading materials based on user requirements.
The project was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Maj Anita Marwah (Retd), executive member, FLO Uttarakhand was Coordinator of the Rural Livelihoods & Rural Entrepreneurship vertical, with the support of Gram Pradhan Anil Pal. FLO Uttarakhand appreciates the contributions of its executive committee members and the community for their collaboration in bringing this vision to life.
This initiative reaffirms FICCI FLO Uttarakhand’s commitment to fostering opportunities for education and empowerment in rural areas, enabling sustainable development and a brighter future for all. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Dr. Charu Chauhan, followed by a tour of the library and interactive sessions with the local community. The celebrations underscored the transformative potential of this initiative for promoting education and community development.
