Doon University Concludes the National Summit of Institutional Leaders-2025.

Dehradun: The 2-Day National Summit of Institutional Leaders-2025 (NSIL-2025) at Doon University concluded successfully with a valedictory ceremony in the august presence of Chief Guest Hon’ble Chancellor and Governor, Uttarakhand Lt. Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh. Sri Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Health, and Cooperative, Government of Uttarakhand, Prof. Kailash Sharma, National President of VBUSS, Prof. Narendra Kumar Taneja, National Secretary of VBUSS, and Prof. Surekha Dangwal, Vice-Chancellor of Doon University, were also present as Guests of Honour.

The summit attracted participation from approximately 57 universities from across the country, 120 government colleges from Uttarakhand, and various private universities from Dehradun. Over the two days, the summit witnessed a series of insightful sessions, panel discussions, and group discussions, focusing on shaping the future of higher education in India. The students of Doon University presented a deeply moving theatrical performance based on “Nanda Ki Katha”, which provided distinguished guests from various states with an opportunity to experience and understand the culture of Uttarakhand.

The Hon’ble Chancellor, in his address during the valedictory ceremony, emphasised the importance of strong leadership and visionary institutions in shaping a developed India by 2047. He urged educational institutions to go beyond traditional paradigms, fostering transformative learning and integrating traditional knowledge with modern progress. He also praised the National Education Policy 2020 as a pivotal step towards creating a holistic and inclusive educational framework.

Day 2 of NSIL-2025 was marked by the presence of eminent academicians, policymakers, and industry leaders who shared their vision for a transformative and resilient education system. It began with a plenary lecture on the theme on the theme “Vision Viksit Bharat @2047: Role of Academic Leaders”, moderated by Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotia University. The session featured Shri Chamu Krishna Shastry, Chairman of the Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, Ministry of Education, and Prof. Bharat Bhaskar, Director of IIM Ahmedabad, as the keynote speakers. The speakers emphasized the pivotal role of academic leaders in realising the vision of a developed India by 2047, highlighting the need for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable practices in higher education.

Parallel group discussions were held across multiple venues, focusing on the draft declaration of NSIL-2025. The discussions were chaired by distinguished academic leaders, including Prof. Bharat Bhaskar, Director of IIM Ahmedabad, and Prof. Avinash Kumar Agarwal, Director of IIT Jodhpur. Prof. Bharat Bhaskar stressed the importance of aligning performance and potential with Indian culture, urging the creation of a self-reliant development model while Prof. Avinash Agrawal highlighted the need for Indian educational institutions to adopt the 6 Cs framework for institutional development and provide facilities accordingly. He also emphasized the inclusion of Indian languages in technical courses to bridge the gap for students from remote areas. The discussions were moderated and conducted by experts from Vidya Bharati, UCOST, and Doon University Faculty, ensuring a collaborative and inclusive dialogue.

A high-profile panel discussion on “Fostering Academic Excellence: Leadership & Collaboration in Action” was chaired by Prof. Pradeep Joshi, Chairman of the National Testing Agency and former Chairman of UPSC. The panel included Prof. S.K. Khare, Director of IISER Kolkata, and Prof. B.J. R, Vice Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad. The panellists discussed the importance of leadership, collaboration, and innovation in driving academic excellence and preparing institutions for future challenges.

The summit emphasised the need for a collaborative approach to implement NEP 2020 effectively. Discussions focused on fostering innovation, sustainability, and industry-academia partnerships. The draft declaration of NSIL-2025 outlined a roadmap for transforming higher education institutions into resilient and future-ready campuses. The National Summit of Institutional Leaders-2025 concluded on a high note, with a renewed commitment to shaping the future of higher education in India.

The event saw participation from vice-chancellors of various universities, including Prof. Shivraj Singh, Prof. Akhilesh Mishra, and officials from Vidya Bharati Higher Education Institute, Uttarakhand, such as Prof. Jagmohan Singh Rana, Prof. Raj Kumari Chauhan Bhandari, Prof. Anju Agrawal, and Dr. Deepak Pandey. Also present were Shri Durgesh Dimri, Registrar of Doon University, Prof. R.P. Mamgain, Prof. H.C. Purohit, Dr. Swati Bisht, and other educators.
