Uttarkashi: District Magistrate Prashant Kumar Arya visited Siguni village in Dhanari Patti and held a Janta Darbar (public hearing) to address the problems of the local villagers.
On this occasion Singuni, Gram Pradhan, Sohanpal Singh Rana, Block Pramukh, Dunda Rajdeep Parmar, former district panchayat member Pawan Nautiyal, SDM Dunda, Devanand Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer S. S. Verma, BDO Dunda, Dinesh Chandra Joshi, Naib Tehsildar, Shailendra Singh Nath, Executive Engineer (Minor Irrigation) Madan Mohan Sharma, and SDO UPPCL Pramod Bhandari were also present there
While hearing the public grievances, District Magistrate Prashant Kumar Arya said that in response to the drinking water problem in Siguni Gram Sabha, the administration would soon implement the up-gradation of old, damaged pipelines and the Drinking Water Pumping Lift Scheme. The irrigation canals for the fields will also be up-graded promptly. Concerned departments will be instructed to ensure the speedy redressal of women’s issues in the village. Homestay schemes will be launched in Siguni village to boost tourism. Work on the action plan to develop Siguni village as an Astro Village will be expedited. The 100 nali of Panchayati land registered by the villagers for anKrishi Mandi will be forwarded for the construction of the market.
On this occasion, Sohanpal Singh Rana, the Gram Pradhan of Siguni, thanked the Uttarkashi District Magistrate, Prashant Kumar Arya. He said, “We are extremely happy that the District Magistrate himself reached our village, listened to the problems of the villagers, and assured us that action plans for their resolution would be worked upon. We are truly indebted to him for this. I also extend my gratitude to the departmental officers of the administration who accompanied the District Magistrate and dedicated their time to our Gram Sabha.”
