Dehradun: Director General of Police (DGP) Abhinav Kumar stated that the problems of retired police personnel will be addressed on a priority basis. He also mentioned that special schemes will be developed for the welfare of retired police officers and their families.
During a meeting at the police headquarters with the officials of the Police Pensioners Welfare Committee, the DGP emphasized that the Uttarakhand Police Department continuously formulates various schemes through the committee and works for the welfare of pensioner’s need. In the meeting, several key issues were discussed, including focusing on the retired police personnel and their families, issuing special guidelines to all district officials for the welfare of dependent women of police personnel, and resolving issues through WhatsApp groups.
Instructions were given to create WhatsApp groups at every police station level and include all police pensioners so that their issues can be resolved at the station level itself. The DGP also assured the committee members that steps will be taken to resolve the problems of police pensioners after a detailed discussion on welfare and problem-solving strategies.
Additionally, directions were given to create separate cells in each district for medical reimbursement for police pensioners, welfare of dependent women of police personnel and to ensure that every police officer retiring from districts, battalions, units, and branches is made a member of the Uttarakhand Police Pensioners Welfare Committee.
The meeting was attended by the committee’s key members, including Mr. J.C. Pant (Patron), Mr. Jagdish Bhandari (President), Mr. Jagdish Chandra Arya (Secretary), Mr. Shridhar Badola (General Secretary), and Mr. Indrajit Singh Rawat (Editor).
