Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participate in the “Run for Unity” cross-country race at Dehradun.

Dehradun: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the “Run for Unity” cross-country race at Pavilion Ground, Dehradun, organized on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary. Paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a visionary of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India), and Iron Man of India, the Chief Minister said that Patel dedicated every moment of his life to the unity and integrity of the country. His entire life inspires us to serve the nation.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that “Run for Unity” is organized annually on October 31, Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary. This year, due to its coincidence with Diwali, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced in his “Mann Ki Baat” program that the event would be held on October 29. The Chief Minister said that Sardar Patel, through his strong willpower, foresight, and unwavering dedication, realized the dream of a united India. By uniting over 560 princely states, he shaped a powerful nation and gave us an India where unity thrives amid diversity.

The Chief Minister highlighted that as India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Sardar Patel’s diplomacy and vision greatly contributed to the history of independent India. His unique determination and foresight made a modern India, binding the country together. Every citizen of the nation will always be indebted to the Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for his monumental contribution. This “Run for Unity” aims to awaken the spirit of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” in every citizen. Unity and integrity are not just ideas but a prime duty of every Indian. This is not just a simple run but a medium to strengthen our country’s unity and integrity.

Union Minister of State Shri Ajay Tamta, MLA Shri Khajan Das, Special Chief Secretary for Sports Shri Amit Sinha, Sports Director Shri Prashant Arya, other officials of the sports department, and participants also took part in cross-country race.
