Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Inaugurates Curtain Raiser and Program Guide for 10th World Ayurveda Congress for the upcoming 10th World Ayurveda Congress in Dehradun. He emphasized the global recognition of Ayurveda and AYUSH during the COVID-19 pandemic and remarked that the congress aligns with the vision of spreading the message of “Sarve Santu Niramayah” (May all be free from illness).
While unveiling the curtain raiser and program guide at the Media Centre Secretariat in Dehradun, the Chief Minister reiterated Uttarakhand’s rich heritage as a hub of Ayurveda and wisdom since ancient times. He credited sages and scholars for extensive research that laid the foundation for this field. The state’s favorable climate for medicinal plants and its connection to the Himalayas and forests make Ayurveda deeply rooted in Uttarakhand’s essence. Efforts are underway to advance the state in all sectors, he added.
The Chief Minister also referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on Uttarakhand’s Foundation Day, where he described the state’s development efforts as a “Yagna.” Inspired by the Prime Minister’s guidance, the state is focused on sustainable progress.
Highlighting the 10th World Ayurveda Congress, he stated that Uttarakhand is globally renowned for its natural wealth, medicinal plants, and serene Himalayan environment. The event will host over 300 international delegates from 58 countries and 6,500 representatives from across India, along with two lakh visitors, creating a unique platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration. The Uttarakhand Pavilion, featuring stalls from eight state departments—Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Health, Skill Development, Tourism, Industry, Horticulture, and Rural Development—will showcase the state as a hub for Ayurveda and wellness tourism. The event aims to raise awareness about the integration of Ayurveda with modern technology and foster opportunities for knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and business development in Ayurveda.
The Chief Minister outlined state initiatives, including AYUSH policies to accelerate growth in manufacturing, wellness, education, and agriculture sectors. Work is also underway on India’s first Yoga policy. Construction of three new 50-bed AYUSH hospitals in Tehri, Kotdwar, and Tanakpur is progressing, and 300 AYUSH-based Ayushman Arogya Temples have been established.
