Dr. Punish Sadana, Director, Cardiac Sciences, Max Hospital, Dehradun, said, “Unlike traditional pacemakers, which require an incision in the chest and lead wires connected to the heart, this cutting-edge technology is implanted through a minimally invasive catheter, without the need for any incisions or stitches. We implanted the leadless pacemaker through the right femoral vein (thigh vein), without any chest incisions and wires that are part of the traditional system. The entire procedure was completed smoothly, and the patient was discharged within three days of the surgery.”

Dr. Preeti Sharma, Director, Cardiac Sciences, Max Hospital, Dehradun, said, “Leadless pacemakers are game changers in managing patients with critical cardiac conditions. This newer technology reduces procedural risks and improves patient comfort. It’s particularly useful in patients who are older, have vascular complications, or are prone to infections.”
