Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi

New Delhi- Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. He also invited the Prime Minister to the National Games being hosted in Uttarakhand. CM expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Uttarakhand for the Prime Minister’s leadership, guidance, and support in the state’s development and apprised the Prime Minister of the progress in various developmental projects in the state. CM presented the Prime Minister with a shawl from Malari (Chamoli) and a replica of Narayan Ashram.

He informed that the first phase of the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag Rail Project is progressing rapidly, and the survey for the Tanakpur-Bageshwar Rail Project has been completed and requested the Prime Minister’s approval and full financial support from the central government for this project.

CM proposed closing the old Rishikesh railway station and operating all train services from the new Yog Nagari Railway Station in Rishikesh. He suggested utilizing the railway tracks at the old station for a new road system to improve traffic flow.

CM expressed his gratitude for designating Rishikesh as an iconic city for river rafting. He requested central assistance for the Haridwar-Rishikesh Ganga Corridor and Sharda Corridor projects, considering the state’s limited resources.

He informed the Prime Minister about a proposed MoU with the Iceland Embassy to harness geothermal energy in Uttarakhand. Necessary clearances from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and Ministry of External Affairs have already been obtained. He sought technical and financial support for this project to help Uttarakhand play a crucial role in achieving the carbon net-zero target by 2070.

The Chief Minister also requested directives for approving proposals submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport, including the Rishikesh Bypass, Haridwar Bypass (Package 2), Dehradun-Mussoorie Connectivity, Dehradun Ring Road, Champawat Bypass, and bypasses for Lalkuan, Haldwani, and Kathgodam, along with the Manaskhand Project.
