Prepare a Work Plan to Achieve 100% Ayushman Card Coverage: Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Health Minister

Special Campaign for Ayushman Card Issuance to Run Till March 31 Across the State

Dehradun: Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Minister of Health and Medical Education, Uttarakhand reviewed various health services at a meeting held at the State Health Authority auditorium. He criticized the CMOs of districts with slow progress in Ayushman card issuance. He urged all CMOs to create concrete work plans and submit them to the government. The minister emphasized running the special campaign until March 31 with the support of CHOs, ANMs, ASHA workers, and Ayushman Mitras. The Health Secretary and the Chairman of the State Health Authority will hold virtual meetings with district officials to monitor progress.

The minister also directed officials to devise better strategies for treating more patients under the Ayushman scheme in government hospitals and medical colleges. Additionally, discussions were held on addressing practical issues with Golden Cards, improving the 108 emergency service, filling vacancies in various departments in medical colleges and hospitals, and other critical areas.

A district-wise action plan will be developed to ensure 100% coverage of Ayushman cards across the state. All Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) have been instructed to prepare and implement this plan. A special campaign will run until March 31 to expedite card issuance, including for senior citizens above 70 years of age. Officials have been directed to develop strategies to maximize the number of patients treated under the Ayushman scheme in government medical colleges and hospitals.

Ayushman Scheme Progress

  • Target: 97.11 lakh people from 23.89 lakh families to receive Ayushman cards.
    Current Status: 53.61 lakh people have received Ayushman cards.
    Golden Cards: 4.73 lakh Golden Cards issued under the State Health Scheme.
    Senior Citizens: About 2,000 Ayushman cards issued for individuals above 70 years.
    Benefits: Over 12.32 lakh people have benefited from the scheme, with expenses amounting to Rs 2,289 crore.
    Golden Card Holders: Over 1 lakh cardholders have availed of health benefits under the scheme.

 

Arvind Singh Hyanki (Chairman, State Health Authority), Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar (Health Secretary), Anand Srivastava (CEO, SHA), Swati Bhadauria and Namami Bansal (Additional Secretaries), Dr. Tara Arya (Director General, Health), and other senior officials were also present in meeting.
