CM Dhami Assigns Government Portfolios to Seven Leaders; Total Appointees Close to 100.

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has assigned official responsibilities (portfolios) to seven individuals in various state commissions and councils. The government has appointed former minister Dinesh Agarwal as an advisor to the SETU (State Institute for Empowering and Transforming Uttarakhand) Commission. The orders to this effect were issued by the Confidential Department.

Along with Agarwal, Jot Singh Bisht has been appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the Rural Engineering Services Council, while Anuradha Walia has been given the responsibility of Vice-Chairperson of the Mati Kala Board. Notably, Dinesh Agarwal had switched allegiance from the Congress to the BJP just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Similarly, Bisht, who had also joined the saffron party along with him, has been entrusted with a key responsibility by the government.

Furthermore, Gambhir Singh Dhami has been appointed as the Senior Vice-Chairman and Shamsher Singh Bisht as the Vice-Chairman of the State Ex-Servicemen Welfare Advisory Council. Additionally, Jyoti Kotia has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Gorkha Welfare Council, while Abhishek Shahi has been named its Vice-Chairman. Prior to this, the government had distributed organizational and administrative responsibilities to party leaders in April this year. This marks the fourth major expansion of political appointments under the Dhami administration. With these new inductions, the total number of political appointees (portfolio holders) in the state has reached close to 100.
