Dehradun : Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command, visited Rashtriya Indian Military College. The visit reaffirmed the institution’s pivotal role in nurturing future leaders of the Armed Forces through a balanced blend of academics, military training, character development, and co-curricular excellence.
The Army Commander reviewed the academic and training environment of the College and interacted with Commandant, Col Rahul Agarwal, faculty members and the cadets, appreciating the progressive pedagogical practices, experiential learning initiatives, digital integration, and modern infrastructure that support holistic development while preserving RIMC’s core values and traditions.
He viewed a cadet-led exhibition showcasing academic projects, innovation models, and historical displays, and commended the confidence, articulation, and intellectual curiosity of the cadets. A cultural presentation by the cadets, reflecting discipline and creativity, further highlighted the institution’s emphasis on all-round development.
A proud moment during the visit was the felicitation of girl cadets for outstanding performance at 68th National Shooting Championships. Cadets Arya Singh, Niyanta Pal, Bliss Agarwal and Janavi Koralli were awarded Medals of Appreciation, book prizes and a cash award for their achievements at the National level, exemplifying focus, perseverance, and competitive excellence. The Army Commander also lauded the exceptional academic performance of cadets in the Class X Board Examinations, and Cadet Akash Chhetri in particular for 100% scores on mathematics.
