Payal Mer Brings Glory to Almora with Gold in State-Level Athletics.

Almora: Payal Mer, a Class 9 student of Government Inter College, Mairgaon (Block Lamgara, District Almora), has brought laurels to her school and district by winning the gold medal in the high jump event (Under-14 Girls Category) at the State-Level Athletics Championship 2025, held at Maharana Pratap Sports College.

Principal Sandeep Kumar Tamta expressed pride in Payal’s remarkable achievement, describing it as a significant milestone not only for her but also for the entire school. He praised her dedication, hard work, and determination, noting that her success will serve as an inspiration for other students.

Mr. Tamta also extended his best wishes to Payal for her upcoming competitions and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to nurturing the talents of its students. He encouraged all students to participate actively in sports and make physical fitness a part of their daily routine.

Physical Education Teacher Rakesh Chandra has been putting in great effort to train students to reach the highest level. Payal will now represent Uttarakhand at the national level.
