Cabinet Minister Inaugurates the 7th Biennial State Convention of the Government Ayurvedic and Unani Medical Services Association.

Dehradun: The 7th biennial state convention of the Government Ayurvedic and Unani Medical Services Association began in Dehradun. Cabinet Minister, Subodh Uniyal formally inaugurated the convention. During the event, the ‘Sanjeevani’ souvenir of the AYUSH Department was also released. The main coordinator of the program, Dr. R.P. Singh, honored the guests by presenting them with bouquets and mementos.

Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the event virtually and extended his greetings and best wishes to the office-bearers and members of the association.

While addressing the office-bearers of the Government Ayurvedic and Unani Medical Services Association, the Cabinet Minister emphasized promoting AYUSH medicine and strengthening traditional health systems. He stated that innovation in the AYUSH sector should be encouraged. He also highlighted the importance of integrating AYUSH with eco-tourism in Uttarakhand. The Cabinet Minister noted that Uttarakhand was the first state to implement a Yoga policy, which is a major step toward making it an AYUSH-oriented state. He also extended his best wishes for the convention of the association.

Dr. Mithilesh Kumar, the District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer, presented the key demands of the association. These included Granting DACP (Dynamic Assured Career Progression), Appointment of departmental director and additional director based on seniority, Restructuring the cadre and increasing the number of promotional posts, Creating one additional director post and three additional district Ayurvedic and Unani officer posts beyond the already approved posts, Creating 20 senior medical officer posts relative to the total number of medical officer posts, Increasing the NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance) to 20% and Approving CCL (Child Care Leave) at the district level.

The Cabinet Minister supported the demands of the medical association and assured that these would soon be presented before the Honorable Chief Minister.

On this occasion, AYUSH Secretary Deependra Chaudhary, while acknowledging the association’s demands, urged Ayurvedic doctors to work in the public interest and keep AYUSH medicine as a top priority in the state.

 

On this occassion special guest Cantt MLA Savita Kapoor, Women’s Commission Chairperson Kusum Kandwal, AYUSH Secretary Deependra Chaudhary, Additional Secretary of the AYUSH Education Department, and Director Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande were present.
