House of Himalayas launches new range of famous Dehradun Basmati.

Dehradun: Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi formally launched a new range of Dehradun’s famous Basmati rice under the prestigious Uttarakhand brand *House of Himalayas* at the FRDC auditorium located in the Secretariat. A collective of Dehradun Basmati producers was also formed, including around 40 farmers from the Vikasnagar and Sahaspur regions. These farmers use traditional farming practices to cultivate Basmati, preserving its unique aroma and quality.

Minister Ganesh Joshi praised the initiative, saying, “This is not just a launch, but a commitment to revive the glorious legacy of Dehradun Basmati.” He encouraged farmers to join this initiative on a larger scale so that the production of Dehradun Basmati can be expanded significantly. He expressed confidence that this initiative would not only increase farmers’ income but also give Dehradun Basmati a new identity in national and international markets. Minister Joshi stated that the combination of organized efforts, modern branding, and traditional knowledge can become a model for rural development and agricultural products.

Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Rural Development Commissioner Anuradha Pal, Additional Secretary Jharna Kamthan, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, and URRDA CEO Abhishek, among other officials were also present on this ocassion.
