Bajaj Finance Organizes Cyber Security Awareness Campaign ‘Knockout Digital Fraud’ in Haridwar.

The awareness campaign held in Haridwar is part of Bajaj Finance’s 100-city Cyber Security Program.

Haridwar: Bajaj Finance Limited (BFL), a part of Bajaj Finserv and the largest private-sector Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) in India, today conducted a cyber fraud awareness program titled ‘Knockout Digital Fraud’ at the Aakash Institute campus in Haridwar. The program aimed to educate digital users about various types of threats and the best practices to safeguard their finances.

The Knockout Digital Fraud program aligns with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)’s 2024 fraud risk management guidelines for NBFCs, which emphasize early detection, employee accountability, and public participation to ensure a safer digital ecosystem for everyone.

The objective of this campaign is to draw citizens’ attention to common financial scams carried out by fraudsters, such as fake social media accounts, WhatsApp groups, and websites that mimic financial companies, falsely claim affiliation, and impersonate employees.

During the Bajaj Finance Knockout Digital Fraud campaign, Sub-Inspector Prakash Chand of the Cyber Cell addressed the public and advised them to Use strong and unique passwords, Enable two-factor authentication, Keep antivirus software updated, Avoid clicking on suspicious links or files, Never share personal or financial information with unknown calls or messages, Avoid falling for tempting online offers. Review and secure online privacy settings.

Yogesh Kanthola from the Cyber Cell also shared fraud prevention tips, stating that if anyone falls victim to cyber fraud, they should immediately report it on the Government’s National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal: [www.cybercrime.gov.in](https://www.cybercrime.gov.in).

While discussing cyber security, police officials noted that social media use has become a major challenge today. To stay safe, users should create strong passwords and regularly update their phones or computer systems.

A spokesperson from Bajaj Finance said on the occasion, “Our consumers’ financial security is of utmost importance to us. We continuously issue advisories both online and offline, on social media platforms and through grassroots interactions, encouraging everyone to stay cyber-safe.”

The event saw participation from teachers and students of Aakash Institute Haridwar, along with other distinguished citizens of the city.

The Knockout Digital Fraud campaign offers valuable security tips to the cyber community for protecting personal and sensitive data. These include:Avoid sharing OTPs or PINs, Don’t click on suspicious emails, SMS, links, or QR codes, Don’t download apps from unverified sources.

The campaign includes a series of interactive workshops, digital awareness campaigns, and community outreach programs across major cities and towns.
