Dehradun: Wood Working and Finishing Discipline, Forest Products Division of the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun,is conducting a Short-Term Training Course on “Wood Coatings” from 25th August to 29th August 2025. A total of 19 participants from diverse academic and industrial backgrounds are attending this five-day programme. Nine participants are from Dileep Industries Ind Private Limited, Jaipur, three participants from Shubh Handicrafts Private limited, Jaipur, two participants each from Dileep Crafts Private Limited, Jaipur and The Pierro Ahmedabad, Gujarat and one participant each from C. L. Gupta Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, Tilak Traders and Exporters Pvt. Ltd. Trivandrum, Kerala and Dr. Y.S. Parmar university of Horticulture and Forestry NauniSolan, Himachal Pradesh.
This training programme is designed for industries, academics and other stakeholders dealing with coatings for wood substrate applications. It covers a comprehensive overview of wood coating fundamentals, including types, properties, surface preparation and application & testing methods. The course also addresses environmental aspects, advanced and eco-friendly coating technologies, troubleshooting issues, safety practices, etc. The training will also include hands on practice on coating applications and testing procedures based on National /International Standards.The sessions are designed to enhance the technical competency of participants in selecting and applying wood coatings effectively.
