Dehradun: Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) visited Badrinath Dham, where he offered prayers and participated in a special worship ceremony of Lord Badri Vishal. He prayed for the peace and prosperity of the state and the nation.
The Governor expressed that he had a deeply divine experience at the shrine, observing a unique sense of joy on the faces of the devotees, which left him deeply moved. He stated his desire to return again and also advised the district administration to maintain the current high standards of management and facilities at the Dham.
He reviewed the ongoing Master Plan projects with District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Civic Amenity Center, Civic Community Building, and Arrival Plaza. He directed that once the Shesh Netra and Badrish Lake works are completed, regular cleaning and maintenance of both lakes should be ensured. He also emphasized that the lighting and related infrastructure on the Astha Path should be properly maintained.
The Governor praised the district administration for their efficient management of the Char Dham arrangements. He commended the coordination among the police administration and the temple committee. He also extended congratulations to the members of the temple committee, priests (pandas and purohits), police force, and all administrative officers and staff involved in the pilgrimage management. He encouraged everyone to continue working with the same dedication throughout the entire Yatra season.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chandrashekhar Vishisht, BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Thapliyal, Executive Officer of Badrinath Municipality Sunil Purohit, along with other officials and staff were also present on this occasion.
