About Hayde Heritage Academy
Hayde Heritage Academy (HHA), founded in 2011 by the late Brigadier Desmond E. Hayde, Mahavir Chakra, is a premier Category A CBSE school located in Kotdwara, Uttarakhand, a region with limited modern educational opportunities. Brigadier Hayde’s vision of providing high-quality English-medium education, particularly for girl children, has transformed Kotdwara’s educational landscape. With support from his protégé, Lt. Col. Kunwar Ajay Singh, an IIM-Ahmedabad alumnus, and Dr. Rupamala Singh, a media and marketing professional, HHA grew from its first batch of 63 students to a thriving K-12 institution with 1,350 students and 65 teachers. The school emphasizes holistic development, fostering confidence, leadership, and discipline among students, embodying the values and mission of Brigadier and Mrs. Hayde. This year, the school celebrates its Annual Day by paying tribute to Brigadier Hayde, the Hero of the Battle of Dograi, as it marks the 60th anniversary of his legendary victory, honoring his contributions to the nation and the Kotdwara community.
